Fairfax Futures Announces Grant from the Eugene and Agnes E. Meyer Foundation

Fairfax Futures is a first-time grant recipient of the Eugene and Agnes E. Meyer Foundation. The $30,000 grant award, Strengthening an Equitable School Readiness Framework for Early Childhood Education, will work across low-income Fairfax County communities to identify and address barriers that are hindering families’ access to high-quality early childhood development programs. “This is an exciting and important opportunity for Fairfax Futures,” states Fairfax Futures Board Chairman Cathy Lange. “We are grateful for the Meyer Foundation’s support in helping us to operationalize Fairfax County’s work around equity, specifically by field-testing the Equitable School Readiness Strategic Lens, a decision-making tool that will help early childhood educators and members of the community to address current or potential biases in their work with young children and families.”
