It is no surprise that children are using digital technology at ever-earlier ages, but a new survey in the journal Pediatrics has found that by the age of 4, three-quarters of children sampled had their own mobile device. At the same time, few families and early care and education professionals fully understand how to use screens and other digital technology most effectively with young children.
On November 13, at its 2015 Leadership Forum, Fairfax Futures will release a new resource, “Tapping into Technology: Connecting Children, Teachers and Families in the Digital Age.” Tapping into Technology will contain useful guidance for adults helping children ages 2-8 develop key skills that lead to success in school. The Glossary and Resources sections of the guide will come in handy for anyone interested in better understanding how technology can support learning.
The publication will be available to download on Fairfax-Futures.org after November 13. More information about the 2015 Leadership Forum is available online.
